Welcome To Earth

Below is a poem I wrote for a member of my writing group who's expecting a baby !

Our group decided to task ourselves with coming up with children's stories- whomever wanted to particiapate.)

The stories would be collected and art would be added and a book put together to add to baby's new library.

I spun my wheels trying to come up with a 'story' but then asked myself what my kids enjoyed when they were little (and what I enjoyed reading to them...)

Top of the list were Dr. Suess, Mo Willems (The Pidgeon books and the Elephant and Piggy books are GOLD!!) and Shel Silverstein.

This poem is in the vibe of Silverstein I guess- including the black on white drawings I did which came out better than I expected for someone who hasn't drawn much in years !
